This morning, I was wrestling with God about the state of church-planting in my state. I love Oklahoma and want to see more new, life-giving churches planted here. I have a deep frustration in my heart about the state of things I also know I have a lot to offer in fixing what I see as the problem. Here is a recurring thought I have as I process my prayer time this morning.
If our pastors and churches don't live and breathe a culture of church planting, the efforts and initiatives of our denominations and districts will amount to very little. Culture, not programs are what our churches will reproduce. Culture takes time, focus and resources to develop. It takes even more time, focus and resources to change.
